True to the 2014 Manifesto, I have not been idle this year. Some lessons learned thus far:

  1. Even the most basic deployment set-up can take a lot of thought, effort and time. If this is your first, then this is doubly true.

  2. In a good technology company, your peers should be your greatest technical resource. Ask questions - lots of them.

  3. Economic freedom, at least in the United States, comes either from having significant capital or from running your own company.

  4. No deal is done until it's done.

  5. There are both fair- and poor-weather friends. Surround yourself with people who are both.

  6. Pay attention both to what people say, and to how they act. Good people are usually consistent in both.

  7. Never stop sowing new seeds.
